Concord man arrested after possible DUI collision on Christmas morning
On Christmas morning around 6:30, a citizen in the area of East Olivera Salvio Street called the Concord Police to report a single vehicle rollover.
Lt. Steve Dyer says when Officers arrived, they located the suspect, who was possibly drunk, and driving without a license.
Officers arrived on scene and located the driver and lone occupant of the vehicle unconscious and trapped inside the vehicle. Firefighters from Consolidated Fire and paramedics from American Medical Response rendered aid to the driver and ultimately transported him to John Muir Hospital for medical treatment.
It appeared the driver lost control of his vehicle on East Olivera Road ultimately striking a fence and a tree which caused the vehicle to overturn.
The driver, 20-year-old Concord resident Abraham Mendoza Sanchez, displayed symptoms of being under the influence of alcohol and was unlicensed, according to Lt. Dyer.
Sanchezwas subsequently arrested at the hospital for DUI and released pending review by the District Attorney’s Office.
