A man was arrested early this morning on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol after, police say, he tried to commit suicide by driving into a parked vehicle.
Scott Hebron was taken into custody about 3:35 a.m. in the 1990 block of South Camino Real, according to Palm Springs police.
Officers responded to a call about a traffic collision and found him sitting in his vehicle while suffering from minor injuries.
Hebron indicated he purposely crashed his vehicle in order to take his life, according to police.
He was taken to Desert Regional Medical Center for treatment and later arrested on charges of DUI.
Hebron is undergoing a 72-hour mental health evaluation.
