Ex-Louisville football star charged with DUI

LOUISVILLE, Ky.—Former Louisville star running back Michael Bush faces a drunken-driving charge after being stopped for speeding and allegedly failing a breath test.

Police records indicate Bush tested 0.11 percent for blood-alcohol content after the stop in Jeffersonville, Ind., across the Ohio River from Louisville, The Courier-Journal reported.

Indiana State Trooper James Ferguson said radar indicated Bush, who now plays for the NFL’s Oakland Raiders, was traveling 45 mph in a 35 mph zone when he was stopped early Saturday. Police records show he tested 0.11 on two blood-alcohol tests after the stop. In Indiana, a driver is considered drunk at 0.08 percent.

Defense lawyer Larry Wilder said his client is prepared to deal with the consequences. He is scheduled for an initial hearing on March 7.
