NAPLES, Fla. —
Authorities say a drunk driver crashed into a southwest Florida deputy’s parked patrol car.
The Collier County Sheriff’s Office reports that Cpl. Karen Altman’s vehicle was stopped on the side of a road with its emergency lights on early Thursday morning when 22-year-old Kyle Cascarano rear-ended the cruiser. Altman had just finished stopping another driver suspected of driving under the influence.
An arrest report says Cascarano smelled like alcohol and deputies later found an open bottle of wine in his car. He was taken to a nearby hospital for a checkup and charged with DUI with property damage.
